Our Partners

Project Prevent is a partnership between the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service Program [DOCS]. It is funded by seed grants from the Forum on Women’s Health and the Health Foundation of South Florida (HFSF). Further support for this initiative comes from the Wal-Mart Foundation.

DOCS (Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service Program)
The Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service [DOCS] is a non-profit organization run by students at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. DOCS develops, coordinates, and aids in the implementation of community health initiatives, under the supervision of Miller School of Medicine faculty.

Forum on Women’s Health
The Forum on Women’s Health is comprised of 150 women in South Florida who are dedicated to enhancing the health and well being of all women, their families, and those in their community through collaboration with the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. Founded in 2006, the Forum presents cutting edge information specific to women’s medical concerns to its members, provides access to physician/scientists at the Miller School of Medicine to its members and their families, and facilitates community outreach to and provides financial support for the medically underserved in the South Florida Community.

Health Foundation of South Florida
Health Foundation of South Florida, a not-for-profit grantmaking foundation, is dedicated to expanding access to affordable, quality health care and providing funding that directly benefits the health and well being of underserved individuals in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. Since its inception in 1993, the Foundation has awarded more than $75 million in grants and direct program support.

Wal-Mart Foundation
The Wal-Mart Foundation is the community involvement division of Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is committed to acting as a globally responsible citizen and it strives to improve the quality of life for associates, customers, and communities through financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteerism.
